The Sur-thriver Run

The Sur-thriver Run

At Rasselbock we love supporting small charities and this event is no different as we’re teaming up with Thomas Dunning from the First Steps Forward program.

“Whatever timescale you go through with a mental health issue; you are no longer a sufferer, but a Sur-Thirver!”

In the UK, poor mental health affects 1 in 4 people – It doesn’t just target one demographic but targets every single one of us so it’s important we do what we can to help ourselves and others to prevent this. Quite simply, we cannot have good health if we don’t look after both our physical and mental health in equal measure.

You should never be ashamed to speak to others about your mental health and it more than likely even helps aid recovery, so this is where the event comes in. All we want you to do is get active and have a conversation. This can be a walk, run, cycle, skateboard, whatever you’d like, just getting outside for as long as you feel comfortable.

£6.50 From every entry goes towards the First Steps Forward Programme.

The First Steps Forward Programme is a scheme to help people in low-income areas and/or in receipt of mental health services to get active by providing footwear, discount vouchers, and also a Couch to 5km program to help the participant get active and use physical activity as a means to help their mental health.

Once you’ve completed your activity over the weekend of the 13th, just upload your proof via your account or drop us an email.

* As we want to keep sign-ups open until the event date, and the ongoing Brexit and Covid issues, your medal will be posted out approximately 1 month after the event takes place.
