Who said that bigger isn’t always better?

After six years of waiting to be able to pull off this medal, the time has finally arrived. Join us on the 20th June 2027 to get your hands on the world’s largest finishers’ medal (record pending).

With a diameter of 48cm and weighing a massive 7.5kg, you’ll need to be training the neck as well as the legs in preperation for this one.

The venue for this run will be Hardwick Hall and anyone that takes part will be leaving with one of these!

The aim for our events is to organize races as if we were taking part, so you can expect amazing support, the best medals, and a small group of runners that is never any more than 150. Think of it as a small group of friends and family all coming together for an amazing day of running! Scroll for more…

From: £50.00

More Info

The event wills till be one of our standard 6 hour looped events, meaning that really, you just need to finish one lap to receive your medal.

The medals themselves cost close to £80 each, so we are covering a large amount of the fees ourselves to make this happen.

There will be a standard-sized medal entry available for £50 for those who don’t have space for the massive medal at home.

Enjoy all that Hardwick Hall has to offer!

Hardwick Hall is located just south of junction 29 on the M1, between Chesterfield and Mansfield. Hardwick Hall, Chesterfield, Chesterfield, S44 5QJ. For more information on the venue, including directions, accommodation, and more, please check out the Hardwick Hall Infomation Page.

You’ll be able to pick up your race number on the morning of the event at the aid station/start line. The Hall grounds will be opening early for runners from 8am, and you’ll be able to grab your race numbers shortly after then. Please allow yourself enough time to grab your number before the race briefing at 8:50 am and the start of the run at 9am.

There is a time limit of 6 hours for this event. This means that you need to have completed your final lap before the end of the 6 hours for it to be counted towards your final distance. Each lap will be around 5.661km long. This means that if you complete 4 laps you have run a half marathon, 7 laps, a full marathon and 8 laps or more will be classed as an Ultra. You can finish your event at any time within the six hours, and as long as you have completed one lap then you will be classed as a finisher.

PLEASE NOTE:  This event is not a set distance but a 6-hour challenge event for you to complete as many laps of the course as possible within the time frame. Whilst you can run a half or a marathon with us, you’ll likely run a little further to complete the laps in the time frame. Please see below for a list of how far you’ll run for each number of laps

  • A fully unique and bespoke medal designed just for this event.
  • All the food, drink, and nibbles that you could imagine at the aid station.
  • Amazing support from the Rasselbock Family!
  • Fully signposted route
  • first aid provided Aplus

We will have a fully stocked aid station at base camp full of all your favorite items, although if you are expecting energy tablets, gels, and supplements, you may need to bring your own as our aid station tends to lean towards the more “enjoyable fuel”. Imagine Fudge, cakes, cookies, and jelly babies along with all the savory alternatives.

You are more than welcome to bring your own food and drink to the aid station. We will have a separate table for these so please make sure that your bottles or items are clearly labeled so that no one takes them by accident!

The route and all of its details can be found here. There will also be a hill included for free on every lap that you run, although it is worth noting that there may be slight alterations to the route depending on the farmer’s needs at the time. They will all be communicated with you before the event in the case of any changes.

We do not have any secure baggage areas on site but you are more than welcome to leave your bags at the base camp. Whilst we can’t guarantee that they’ll be safe, there will always be someone from Rasselbock around.

We would recommend trail shoes for this route, mainly due to the route passing through active farmland and, let’s face it, there is a high chance that there will be some muddy spots on the route.  Like all of our events going forward, we will be operating a bring your own bottle policy. We will not be supplying plastic cups or drinks receptacles at this event so that we can cut down on waste and do our part to help the environment. You will be required to bring your own water bottle, collapsible cup, or similar to the event. We will still have an array of liquids available for you to top up your bottles with at our well-stocked aid station!

The event will be taking place on a National Trust site that will still be open to the public. Runners will not have the right of way and we will need to be considerate to all the other users of the area, be it walkers, cyclists, families, etc. The route will be avoiding the busiest visitor areas but please be aware of other users on the site.

We will have a number of portable toilets at the race HQ with hand sanitizer and period products, split evenly between women’s and unisex.
There will be some public toilets that will be open for our use (from 8.30 am) although these are NOT at the race HQ! They will be located by the lower ponds about 3km into the loop. Please bare this in mind when arriving at the site and preparing at the start line.

Hardwick Hall is owned and operated by National Trust, their ruling to close the venue due to high winds is final and is predicted using met office predictions of wind gusts over 40 miles an hour. In the case of high winds, a decision will be made in advance whether the event is to go ahead. If not then we will communicate this through emails, social medias and possibly in 2026 by text message.

On the rare occasion that the venue closes then we will find a new date to hold the event at, should you not be able to participate in the event on the new date then we will allow a deferral on your entry to any new event on our calendar.

So far in the four years of events at Hardwick Hall, we have not yet had to postpone an event, but we do like to be prepared.

All other questions that you may have are most probably answered on the events FAQ page.
